Baking Pork Pies

Ingredients:
- Shortcrust pastry (homemade or store-bought)
- Minced pork
- Pork seasoning (salt, pepper, herbs)
- Gelatine
- Egg wash for glazing
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Roll out the shortcrust pastry and line your pie tins with it.
- Mix the minced pork with the seasoning and fill the pastry-lined tins with the mixture.
- Cover the pies with pastry lids, crimp the edges to seal, and make a small hole in the centre for steam to escape.
- Brush the tops of the pies with egg wash for a golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-40 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and the filling is cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and leave to cool slightly before serving.
Serving Suggestion:
Pork pies are best enjoyed cold as a snack or part of a picnic spread. Serve with pickles, chutneys, or mustard for extra flavour. These pies also make a great addition to a buffet or party platter.
